We got second-hand scammed on Amazon. This is more common than it probably should be and similarly mirrors our Newegg new-in-box RMA item incident, with one major, important difference: Thus far, Amazon has always just refunded us when it happens and without question. This is an instance where we think it's a second-hand scam, meaning that a customer appears to have scammed Amazon, the retailer, on the return, and then we got hit secondarily as the item was repackaged and sold as new, despite being open box.
