In this drum lesson I describe how to hold your drumsticks correctly (using matched grip). It's important to get this right from the start to make your progress as a drummer easier. • Explained: • Open your hand flat, palm facing up • Sit the drumstick on your first finger, first joint • Place your thumb opposite (you've now created your Fulcrum ) • Gently wrap your other fingers round the stick • Check there's 2cm's stick coming out the back of your hand • Turn your wrist inwards until the knuckle of your first finger is the highest point of your hand. • Do the same with your other hand and then check you're holding the sticks symmetrically. • Now you're ready to learn how to play Single Strokes: • How to play a Single Stroke Roll - Dr... • www.twitter.com/BrocksterDrums • Subscribe to this channel for more drum lessons over the coming weeks.
