Along the Pinal Pioneer Parkway between Tucson and Florence, Arizona is the spot where the famous cowboy movie legend Tom Mix (Age 60) died in 1940 driving back from Tucson to Phoenix to visit a friend. • This stretch of highway between Tucson and Florence use to be the main highway connecting Phoenix and Tucson many years ago - known as Highway 80, now it's often called Pinal Pioneer Highway or Florence Highway.
