The Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB Audio interface packs a lot of features into its small footprint desktop format, essentially this is an affordable 2 in / 4 out USB audio interface, however the intuituive lay-out and multi-functionality built into the Scarlett 2i4 makes this unit a must for digital musicians and DJ's alike ... • The Scarlett 2i4 offers 96 KHz, 24-bit conversion and features two industry leading Focusrite microphone preamplifiers within its Red anodised aluminium unibody chassis.The Gain knobs have Halo LED lights around the edges that indicate the suitability of the input signal level by glowing green or red - green indicating that the level is set correctly, and red meaning that the level is clipping or distorted. Other functions such as the MIDI inputs, USB interface and Pad attenuation buttons also have illuminated LED's so that the user is aware that the facility is in use. • Microphone inputs can accomodate XLR or TRS jack format and there is also 48v Phantom power switch for when a condenser microphone is in use which also has an illuminated red LED when activated.
