It is recorded in the Guru Granth Sahib Ji and contains the hymns of four different Gurus; Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Amardas Ji, Guru Ramdas Ji and Guru Arjan Dev Ji.. Compositions of to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Benti Chaupai, Sweya and Salok were added to the Bani in the late 19th century.
