Symbiosis means living together. It's a close, long-lasting relationship between two species. It's normally used when the two species each benefit from the relationship but that, technically, is mutualistic symbiosis. In it's strictest definition, it simply means that two species spend most or all of their time together. • Sometimes one species benefits and the other is harmed. This is considered parasitic symbiosis; most people just say parasitism. In commensalistic symbiosis, one species benefits and the other is neither harmed nor helped. These are hard examples to find because, if two organisms are living together, chances are there's some impact, positive or negative, on the creature who's supposed to unaffected. • This word is mighty confusing so I thought I'd make a little video to illustrated it.
