The GLI has the same drivetrain as the Volkswagen GTI but packaged in sedan form which includes the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 200 horsepower. The Jetta GLI comes with two different transmissions: a 6-speed manual or the 6-speed automatic called the DSG. The engine and transmission in the 2012 Volkswagen GLI combine to provide great performance compared to other cars in this segment. • The 2012 Volkswagen GLI has a base price of $23,495. On the outside the GLI has a couple of subtle upgrades including GLI budging and a sporty aero kit. But it's on the inside where the GLI really shines. The car comes equipped with a sporty steering wheel and upgrades sports seats with red accent stitching. The Jetta GLI gets 24 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway.
