Here is the evolution Toyota supra, one of the greatest Japanese cars ever, especially the supra MKIV 2jz, the car which put many of more expensive supercars in the 90's to shame. • Toyota introduced the Celica Supra in 1978. Its styling was based upon the popular Celica liftback design, but it was both longer and wider and more powerful. • July 1981 saw the arrival of the second-generation Celica Supra, there was two distinct models, L-type and Performance offered differing levels of equipment.flared wheelarches and pop-up headlights gave an air of supremacy over the first-generation Supra. • The third iteration of the Supra landed in August 1985, and moved the car on style-wise. More curvy lines lent the car an elegant, more grown-up look. The Supra also finally diverged from its Celica heritage, gaining a platform all its own. In 1987, Toyota added a turbocharged model to the line, making it the first Toyota model in the United States to be available with both a turbocharged engine and anti-lock brakes. • The fourth-generation was unveiled at the 1993 Chicago motor show, and was the culmination of four years of development. It was a radical departure from Supras of old, more powerful than ever before, and many weight saving measures were employed. The Turbo model was hailed by many major magazines as a true worldbeater.
