In today's tutorial, we'll be demonstrating a crucial skill every equestrian should have in their toolkit – how to properly apply a tail bandage on a horse. Whether you're a seasoned rider or new to the world of equines, knowing how to care for your horse's tail while travelling can prevent injuries and promote overall well-being. • • Learn how to properly secure the bandage to prevent it from unravelling or slipping. It is very important that the tail bandage is tight enough, but also not too tight. You should just be able to fit 2 fingers in at the top. The tail bandage should never be left on overnight and is only ideal for shorter travel distances, ie under 3 hours. We'll also show you the safe and gentle way to remove the tail bandage when it's no longer needed, and how to roll the bandage up after use.
