The NHS reports that around half of hospital admissions for people with type 1 diabetes are a result of ketoacidosis. • The NHS states that diabetic ketoacidosis is most commonly associated with type 1 diabetes. • Because people with type 1 diabetes produce at most, very small quantities of insulin, it means they are more susceptible to ketoacidosis.
