It was my final intermediate stop on the MML before heading home, and boy was the weather dreadful. Locked and loaded with my suitcase I landed at the station of Kettering, where I took my final Meridian captures of the holiday. • Very hesitant whether or not I would conquer the weather one final time, I decided to do so and capture this final, full capture of the high-speed diesel intercity and boy did I get a noticeable capture.... • With my umbrella protecting me from the shower, I headed up the platform to capture the departure of my final Class 222. It was a full 7-car set after all! All the way up the platform the service came rolling in and started idling... As you can hear, this probably in heavy need of maintenance QSK19 engine, therefor sounded like a genuine machine gun, purring away loud but peacefully. Slightly reminiscent of the rattling engine I captured a few years prior at the station of Loughborough. • Oh, and for the love of god; please help this unit EMR. It is already running on 5 out of 7 engines, and this first engine isn't sounding too well either.
