Fire Portal 15 ticks

Torch portal knockoff that saves 2 ticks. Instead of using a torch to place the top of the frame( • Torch Portal Example and • Torch Portal Alternative w/ Double Place ), this uses a fire double place instead. This strat only has 1 tick of downtime(at the end of the first jump), instead of the 3 that normal torch portal has. I honestly never thought a ground level portal could get this fast just because of the insane height bottleneck, but now I wonder if that last tick could be cut out too. • The main improvement of this over torch portal is the height of the fire hitbox. The top of a fire is 0.0625m up instead of the 0.625m/0.8125m of a torch. This means you can reach the top of it much sooner in your jump, thus letting you place the top of the portal much sooner, which is the main bottleneck in torch portal. Unlike torches though fire is a replaceable block, so previously you couldn't just place off of it(you'd just replace the fire instead). However, double placing actually lets you place adjacently to replaceable blocks( • Double Place using Block Replacement ... ). Not to mention it places two blocks at once, so you don't waste any time placing the fire since it averages out. Anyway this lower hitbox saved so much time that I ran out of downtime after the second jump. Before, you had to use this downtime to reach the top of the other side of the portal frame, but obviously that would waste a tick now. So instead I use another fire double place(same as the other one) earlier during my first jump. Idk just watch the video lol. • Sadly I don’t think this would work in earlier versions, at least prior to when they gave fire an actual hitbox, since you end up selecting the block behind the fire, similar to water. This breaks the double place properties.
