One of Volkswagen models common problems is the ignition switch. • The most common reasons Volkswagen usually the Jetta model, the key won't turn some cases causing the steering wheel to lock. • Useful information • Volkswagen is recalling over 47,000 Jetta sedans from the 2019 and 2020 model years because their ignition switches may fail, especially when temperatures are high. The recall includes only Jettas with a traditional key—cars with a push-button start feature are not included in the recall. • If the ignition switch fails while the car is in motion, it could shut off the engine and electrical system, which could lead to a crash. Before the switch fails, drivers may notice one of two warning messages on the display behind the steering wheel: “Ignition switch off, safely stop the vehicle,” or “Starter system faulty, please service vehicle.” • Owners of recalled vehicles can get their ignition switch replaced at a Volkswagen dealership, free of charge. • NHTSA campaign number: 23V604. Volkswagen’s own number for this recall is 28H7. • Vehicles recalled: Volkswagen Jetta sedans with a traditional ignition key manufactured between Sept. 3, 2018, and Dec. 21, 2019. • https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/...
