a painful cry • — 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙥𝙤𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙮 ☽ • poem by TJL • lonely is an understatement • when I reflect on my past • I can’t think about it • it makes me go mad • my mind starts agonizing, • I try to bury the pain • it feels overwhelming • a glass overflowing from the top • that won’t quit • no matter how much I try to stop • it keeps flowing • my negative thoughts pouring • drowning my soul • I can’t seem to let it go • it isn’t fair • nothing is fair • I know • you are only given what you can handle • but how does this go like that? • when all I ever wanted • was to have you back • when I would cry for you at night • waiting for you to come • longing for you • it isn’t a surprise that you never showed • how can you say you loved me? • when you were absent for so many years? • the unbearable rejection • is extreme and desperate • for compassion and desire • how can you rest your head • on your pillow at the end of the day • when you have been nothing • but cold and dark • a shadow in your heart • do you have no empathy? • is your conscious empty? • it may have been years ago • yet I will never get over the hurt • I loved you unconditionally • you burnt my name • made me a shame • ran me through the dirt • left me lying there • worthless • abandoned for the last time • I could continue • with the tears and the trauma • but you must know • you are not worth the words anymore • I refuse to give into the the drama • the toxic heartache that follows your actions • I will rise up • I will rise up everyday • last thing I need to say • it is your loss • • #alifewithpoetry #spokenword #poem • a life with poetry | poems
