Honda's racing division, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), has been experimenting with the Acura Integra Type S, unveiling an exciting new concept at Monterey Car Week. The Acura Integra Type S HRC Prototype is a thrilling preview of what could become a line of performance-enhancing parts for the already impressive hot hatch. And it is, in a word, exceptional. • The most noticeable changes come in the form of aerodynamic upgrades. The Prototype features a new splitter, larger vents on the hood, revised side skirts, and a massive adjustable wing at the rear. These enhancements are similar to the aero package designed for the Integra Type S race car, and Acura claims these modifications significantly improve downforce and high-speed stability. • Acura also managed to shed 200 pounds from the standard car by incorporating a carbon fiber hood, removing the rear seats, and replacing them with a carbon fiber panel and additional chassis bracing. The air conditioning system has been eliminated to save weight. The Prototype also features track-focused Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires, new forged wheels, upgraded brakes, and an enhanced suspension system. • While there is no increase in engine power, the Prototype benefits from a larger intercooler, twin oil coolers, and a race-derived exhaust system. We eagerly anticipate the possibility of these parts becoming available for enthusiasts. • #AcuraIntegra #TypeSHRC #MontereyCarWeek • Get More Great Car Videos - Subscribe: https://goo.gl/BSIaFc
