In this video I present to you the famous Passacaglia (BuxWV 161) composed by Dietrich Buxtehude played on my Hauptwerk organ on the sample set of Noordbroek by Sonus Paradisi. • • Dietrich Buxtehude (like Bach) only wrote one movement he called Passacaglia although many of his other compositions bears similar structural resemblance. Most famous would be the Chaconne from the work Prelude, Fugue and Chaconne in C Major, (BuxWV 137) • Many scholars see this Passacaglia as being a clear influence on Bach's own Passacaglia in c-minor. • ____________________________________________________ • Making YouTube videos is rewarding but hard work.
