How To Burn Games for your Dreamcast

This video is a quick and easy guide on how to setup imgburn to burn Dreamcast games to play on your Dreamcast made before 2001, your can check what year your Dreamcast is by looking at the label on the bottom of the console. • What you'll need: • CD-R (blank cd CD-RW wont work) • https://www.mediafire.com/file/os38lv... (This pack includes imgburn and drivers to burn cdi files as well as nulldc to test cdi files) • .cdi file of a Dreamcast game (google the name of the Dreamcast game e.g. Dino Crisis cdi) • Dreamcast bios files (to get nulldc to work, just google and download from the net) • Most games will work no problem but some cdi don't boot in my Dreamcast even after passing the nulldc test. Crazy Taxi is one example, cdi files are repackaged Dreamcast games to fit onto a CD and exploited to bypass Dreamcast security. This is done by extracting a gdi image of the Dreamcast game which is a 1:1 dump of a GD-ROM which is what Dreamcast game is. GD-ROMs are 1gb and CD-ROMs are max. 700mb therefore most games you have to down-sample in some way. You also have to edit the boot sector and first audio track to trick the Dreamcast. If the game has CDDA tracks then the process is even more complicated. Long story short, if your game doesn't boot from your Dreamcast, most likely an error was made repacking the gdi image to cdi. • So I'm doing a video series on how to create your own cdi image files, this is also good if you would like to edit or apply patches to games and play modded games on your Dreamcast.
