They opened their doors for us to film a great recap with some of the best in the game. • Pan de Campo, or Cowboy Bread is a classic Texas recipe that everyone can enjoy. All you need is a solid recipe and a dutch heated over mesquite coals. Below is our family recipie – what is yours? Don't have one yet? A safe bet is always the King Ranch version, used by many a pan de campo cook. • PAN DE CAMPO (Smokin' Lonestar family recipe) • (Cowboy Camp Bread) • 8 Cups Flour • 8 TSP Baking Powder • 4 TSP Salt • 4 TSP Sugar • 1 1/2 Cups of Oil • 3 Cups Milk • Makes 4 12 Breads • Instructions: Mix all dry ingredients in large mixing bowl, add oil and mix well. Add milk and knead well until all flour is dissolved. Use a rolling pin to spread 4 12 breads. For an old fashioned, outdoor taste, bake in a butch oven for 5-10 minutes or until evenly browned.
