From the end of the Merrie Melodies short The Great Carrot Train Robbery , coming from yesterday's (April 6 2023) airing on Boomerang UK. • Boomerang has been airing some classic Looney Tunes shorts recently to celebrate Easter. These don't air often on Boomerang as they used to, so it's nice to see them again. However, when this cartoon aired, I was actually really surprised, as this era of the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies is known for being the least popular era of the franchise (this isn't my first time seeing a short from this era on TV though, I remember seeing Boomerang airing Cool Cat in 2014). Here's why: • In 1963, Warner Bros. shut down their cartoon division, however the head of Warner Bros at the time David H. DePatie (much better than David Zaslav!) would work with veteran director Friz Freleng to form DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and release Looney Tunes shorts under the Warner Bros. label. However the budget was much lower, with the iconic bullseye intro and outro now gone and with the Abstract WB titles, with these shorts focusing on less notable characters, however Road Runner/Wile E. Coyote and Daffy Duck/Speedy Gonzales shorts would still be produced during this era. • In 1967 things go downhill. Warner Bros merged with Seven Arts and production moved back in house at Warner Bros. Animation with a mostly-new crew and substantially smaller budgets. Because of this, many shorts from this era are barely known and as such are rarely seen nowadays, so props to Boomerang for airing something featuring Bunny and Claude, who only started in two shorts and with such almost no one knows of their existence. It's also worth noting this short was the last time Mel Blanc voice acted in the classic era of the Looney Tunes. • My other YouTube channel, where I upload mainly music from SpongeBob SquarePants: •    / @nionbob07   • My other, for lost media, commercials, promos and more: •    / @nionsmediaarchive3532   • Check out Jonty's Logo Archive for even more Nion logo finds:    / @jontyslogoarchive3006   • Friend request me on Discord: Nion (JM Enterprises Inc)#1602 • The content seen in this video is not owned by me.
