This “Kent” guitar was made by Guyatone in Japan and has their cool pickups on-board as well as way too many knobs and controls. • Repairs were simple — level/dress of the frets, re-attach the ground wire to the tailpiece, minor setup stuff, side dots install — and it plays bang-on and has a nice, Gibson-style 24 3/4” scale. • Controls, as stated, are nuts — it has a 4 pickups configured into 2 banks. Each bank of 2 has an on/off switch for an individual tone pot with a thumbwheel. After that there’s master volume for each bank of two pickups as well. This gives you a lot of options but, as you might expect, it sounds coolest in the traditional “one only” or “neck+bridge” combos.
