In this video, we make a delicious hibiscus tea. This drink is often chilled and sweetened with sugar due to the tartness of the hibiscus flower. You may also know this tea as Agua de Jamaica. • Full Recipe: https://cookingperfected.com/hibiscus... • This tea is straightforward to prepare but will require a fair bit of time to cool down. You can use some ice to help it cool down fast if you need it in a rush. • Another reason why this tea is excellent is the fact that it is full of great health benefits. If you’re looking for a healthy beverage, then you should certainly give this one a try. • The ingredients I use in this hibiscus tea recipe are listed below. • 2 Tbsp hibiscus flowers • 1 Cinnamon Stick • 1L (1 qt) water • 3 thin slices of ginger • 3 Tbsp sugar • The juice of a lime or even orange can really help make this tea recipe shine. I personally enjoy having this with a squeeze of lime. • Hibiscus is quite bitter, so you should probably add a sweetener. I use regular white sugar, but alternatives such as honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar will work nicely. • Agua de Jamaica can also have some aromatics added, such as cardamom pods, star anise, and much more. The best time to add these would be in the steeping process. • If you have your own variation, thoughts, or anything else you would love to share, then please leave a comment below.
