Founded in 1958, The Paper Bag Players is a company of adults who create and perform original musical theater for children, Pre-K to 3rd grade. Ours is a theater of fun, poetry and fantasy that reflects our audience’s day-to-day experiences, sense of humor and way of playing, always respecting their intelligence, imagination and sensibilities. Our visual presentation relies on materials that children have at their disposal: paper, cardboard and household objects. • Now in its 61st year, The Paper Bag Players is the longest running children’s theater company in the United States. The company has traveled throughout Asia and the Middle East, Europe, and across the country, reaching an audience of many millions over several generations of fans. The “Bags” have been awarded with an Obie, six American Theater Wing Awards, three awards for excellence from the American Association for Theater and Education, The Broadway Theater Institute Award for Theater and Education, and the Children's Theater Foundation Medallion. The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, which houses the company’s archives, held an exhibition in 2008, The Paper Bag Players: 50 Years of Theater Art. • We are committed to bringing this theater to as many children as possible, making sure any child who wants to see our shows can, regardless of their ability to pay. To fulfill this mission, we rely on government, foundation and public contributions to support our outreach program, Theater For All, which provides free and low cost tickets to children who could not otherwise afford to attend. • To find a show or to learn how to make a difference with a contribution, please visit: https://thepaperbagplayers.org • * * • The Paper Bag Players: What Can You Make • Narration: Kevin Richard Woodall • Conception, Script and Editing: John Stone • Scenic Artist: Jonathan Peck (2009-present) • Music: Donald Ashwander and John Stone • Featuring cast members from 1958 until the present including (in chronological order) Judy Martin, Irving Burton, Remy Charlip, Betty Osgood, Pilar Garcia Sussman, Donald Ashwander, Jeanne Michels, Dan Kelley, Ted Brackett, Kevin Richard Woodall, Esther Ammon, Laura Canty Samuel, James Huggans, John Stone, Amy Walsh, Kaitlin Stark, Stephanie Marie Ricoy, Caroline Carden, Lily Emilia Smith • Photography credits: Martha Swope, William Litwin, Carol Rosegg and Gerry Goodstein • Archival video: Dan Fridman • © 2018, 1958-2018, The Paper Bag Players
