Creatine kinase: Isoenzymes and clinical significance: In this video, I have explained a diagnostic important enzyme creatine kinase and its isoenzymes like CK1 or CK-BB, CK2 or CK-MB, and CK3 or CK-MM. CK2 or CK-MB is an important enzymatic cardiac marker to diagnose myocardial infarction. Creatine kinase catalyzes is a dimer that means it contains 2 subunits or polypeptide chains' B 'and 'M'. 'B' stands for the brain type and 'M' stands for muscle type. The enzyme commission number or enzyme code number for creatine kinase is EC 2.7.3.2. Creatine kinase catalyzes conversion of creatine to creatine phosphate or creatine phosphate back to creatine.
