UPDATE: • Somehow I failed to mention that this procedure is what enables you to use the electronic cylinder holder with the GX2. Once you've completed these steps, the docking station and electronic cylinder holder will work properly. • This video walks you through the steps to set up your MSA Galaxy GX2 docking station for using calibration gas from any supplier. Why wouldn't you just buy MSA gas with the little ring around it? Because it's usually twice the price of standard calibration gas! • This opens you up to other brands of calibration gas, such as Ideal Calibrations brand calgas. The standard 4-gas values for MSA are: • 20ppm H2S • 60ppm CO • 58% LEL Pentane • 15.0% Oxygen • Nitrogen balance ---- You don't have to add this component in • If you have an Altair 5X unit with different gases, leave a comment asking and I'll let you know what the correct default calibration gases are for that monitor as well.
