Hip joint aspiration technique.... a line drawn from Anterior Superior Illiac Spine and tip of Greater Trochanter... The injection entry point is at a junction of upper 2/3rd and lower 1/3rd with the needle directed obliquely downwards and medially till you hit the hard anterior surface of the neck of femur....you can usually feel the entry into the thick capsule ....the needle is gently withdrawn by a millimeter or two....and the hip joint is slowly aspirated.
