Rota is a Polish, patriotic song written in 1908 by activist for Polish independence, poet Maria Konopnicka as a protest against German Empire's policies of forced Germanization of Poles. The music was composed two years later by Feliks Nowowiejski. • The svirel is a Slavic flute. The 6-holes model is very similar to the Irish tin whistle (same scale, same fingering) with the obvious difference that it is not made of tin. • The models shown on this video are in C (first) and D (second). Both flutes are made by Олег Дробинский. • Notes and tabs for this, and many other melodies can be found at http://flecik.pl
