Nearly twelve years ago, a television show premiered on Nickelodeon that quickly earned itself a spot in obscurity. While most other shows from its time aired by the network are currently being revisited for the nostalgia and uncovered trauma of it all, this is one random piece of my childhood that I have found very few people have shared memories with. So today I have committed to a deep dive analysis into The Troop, a program about teenagers hunting monsters, to demonstrate my experiences to all of you. Maybe you remember. Perhaps not. This is due to me neglecting to leave a pronunciation key in the script in the days between writing and filming the video. • •The episode of The Troop that aired after the iCarly premiere “iThink They Kissed” was actually “Do the Worm.” I attributed the first airing of the show with the production pilot for the sake of a more satisfying narrative, but as a matter of fact “Do the Worm” was the only episode aired that night, with “Forest Grump,” “There is No ‘I’ in Monster Hunter,” and finally “Welcome to the Jungle,” airing in that order a week later, on September 18, 2009. Seeing as the video covers the series way out of airing order, I figured starting discussion with the pilot would make for the best intro, but it should be noted that the pilot was actually the fourth episode aired on television, perhaps contributing to its unpopularity.
