I hate my dumb chipmunk voice as much as you do, so I hope this is helpful to you all who can't understand me cus of my past self's dumb mistakes. • This tutorial is technically out of date at this point, and it is my goal to get a new tutorial made with updated techniques and tips for making any length yarn wig (and no sped up voice!!!) AND YES it is sped up, sorry if this is a problem, i just didn't want it to be more than 30 minutes long. • • The last yarn wig tutorial garnered LOTS of questions but also a lot of interest! So here we are with a better tutorial! By no means is my process correct or perfect . (Again, I'll be making a series of videos that go over new and improved techniques I discover! • Playlist here: • Yarn Wigs • Materials needed: Surface to brush yarn, Wire brush, Needle Thread, Scissors, Weaving cap, At least 1 skein of 100% Acrylic Yarn (1 will do but if you are making a longer or thicker than typical wig- consider 2 to be safe), and a Straightener with a low setting • Extra recommended materials: latch hook needle (you can Ventilate yarn!!!) • Hair razor/sheers (for styling) • • Weaving cap I used in the video was from Qfitt. You can find weaving caps like these online or at nearly any local beauty supply store. • You can also make your own weaving cap with mesh lace. • Yarn brands I like (Anything 100% Acrylic can work): • Caron • Caron Simply Soft • I love this yarn • Red heart soft • Lion heart • Yarn Bee Soft Secret • Additional information: Short wigs are honestly the best way to go using the method detailed in this video. Using this method you can brush a strand of 100% Acrylic Yarn to be about 3.5 inches but rarely much longer.
