The old Idyllwild Road is located north of Poppet Flats and south of Banning. This trail is rated easy as long as you stay on the bypass. The rest is hard. This trail us to be an old stagecoach route from Banning to Idyllwild in late 1800's and early 1900's before prisoners built the current road up the hill.
