This is a very good quality soundboard recording of Elvis’ midnight show at the Las Vegas Hilton, on March 22nd, 1975. The engagement had opened on March 18th, and would extend through to April 1st. There were two shows per night, with the exception of opening night, and no cancellations. • Link here to an audience recording of opening night (March 18th) and some more background information; • • Elvis; Live in Las Vegas, March 18th,... • Elvis had not not worked for nearly six months, other than a recording session a week before opening, but came back very strongly for this Las Vegas season. He was in great voice and the inevitable late night/early morning fooling around didn't detract from the pace of the show or the power of the music. The third backing vocal group (Voice; Sherrill Nielsen, Tim Baty and Donnie Sumner) gave some additional muscle to the big production numbers, as did the full Vegas orchestra.
