Ido references and notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1i... • Comparison between Ido and Esperanto: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari... • 0:00 Introduction • 0:16 What is Ido? • 0:43 Why should you learn Ido? • 1:10 What are the differences between Ido and Esperanto? • 2:03 Vocab • Part 2: • Part 2: Alphabet and Pronunciation - ... • Today, I attempt to teach a language that I don't actually speak! Ido is a language that I think is VERY cool, but it's been buried by both time and its more popular brother (or dad?) Esperanto. While it has a decent number of speakers for a constructed language, it has very little online presence, and I feel that this is due to a lack of easily-available resources. Hopefully, my video will bring more attention to this cool lil language and direct everyone to the well-made resources by other people! • My goal isn't to make an in-depth guide, but to create a starting point of interest, so some details may be missing. I don't know any Ido speakers to confirm my research, but all the documents I've referenced had a large amount of agreement, making me pretty confident in what I'm presenting. If I get anything wrong, please feel free to point it out in the comments! • (as a side note, I've tried to hold back any jokes about Ido being the better or cooler Esperanto; while I largely prefer Ido, I've seen some of the rather heated debates about what the best language is, and I do NOT want any of this discussion in the comments. Conlangs are for fun! Making a global constructed language was attempted and failed, so I'd much prefer a future where speakers of a language meant to unite nations would support each other instead. That being said, Elefen is currently my favorite auxlang, and toki pona is my favorite conlang) (other than the one conlang that I made, of course) • Art program: Clip Studio Paint • Editing program: Shotcut
