In this guide I’ll explain how to send an email in Gmail to a group of contacts using a distribution list (also known as a contact group) on your Android phone • 🕔 Key Moments • 00:00 | Intro • 00:14 | How to create a distribution list in the Google contacts app • 02:05 | Send an email using a distribution list in Gmail on an Android phone • 02:48 | Wrap up • 🔎 Useful links • See more info on how to create a contact group in Gmail on your Google Android phone in this article from the Google Support Center View, group and share contacts’ • https://support.google.com/contacts/a... • 👍 Subscribe to the Woggle Guides YouTube channel • If this guide has helped you, please help others to find this Woggle Guide and SUBSCRIBE at this link - https://bit.ly/3jW5rPf • 🤜 Connect with Woggle Guides • Twitter: https://bit.ly/2ZrU0oQ • Facebook: https://bit.ly/2OCizgD • Thanks for taking the time to read and watch this Woggle Guide! • If you have any questions or suggestions to improve this video, please comment below. • 🎵 Attribution • Music from the wonderful BenSound: https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free... • #Gmail #WoggleGuides # DistributionList • STEP BY STEP GUIDE • How to add send an email in Gmail using contact groups #ContactGroup • STEP 1 • To setup a contact group, also known as a distribution list, in Gmail • We actually need to start in another Android app - the Google Contacts app • The contacts app may not be installed on your phone • You can quickly install it however by going into the Play Store on your phone • STEP 2 • And if you search for contacts and chose the first result that is returned • The Google Contacts app page is then shown, • STEP 3 • Tap the Install button to quickly download and install the Google Contacts app on your phone • Once installed, tap the open button to launch the app • STEP 4 • As this is the first time we are launching this app, • You need to allow the app access to your contacts • And allow the app access to your phone • All the contacts on your phone and in your Gmail account are then shown in the contacts app • STEP 5 • In order to send a group email, we first need to create a group email list • I can do that by choosing the contacts I want to add to the group • To select a contact,I just need to tap the contacts name until a blue tick appears • STEP 6 • Once that first contact is selected, I can tap on any additional contacts that I want to add to the group • Once I’m happy that all the contacts have been selected, I now need to add that group to a label • STEP 7 • To do that • I’ll tap on the 3 dots, more options icon, in the top right of the app • and a number of links are shown • The one we are interested in is Add to Label • STEP 8 • When I tap on that, I can chose to add the group of contacts we have selected to an existing group • Or we can create a new one • I’ll choose to add this group to a new label, so I’ll tap on the Create new… link • STEP 9 • A popup appears that asks you to provide a name for the new label • Let’s quickly call this one ‘Friends’ and to save it • I’ll click on the OK button • The label is then created • STEP 10 • And you just need to tap it once to select it and add your contacts to it • The Google contacts app confirms that those five contacts have been added to the Friends label. • • STEP 11 • To send an email to your contact group • You can do it directly from the Google contacts app • By tapping into the menu hamburger icon in the top left of the app • From the menu that is shown, I’ll tap into the Friends label • STEP 12 • To send an email, tap on the 3 dots in the top right of the the app • And from the options shown, I’ll choose to send email • STEP 13 • The full list of contacts on the group is then shown • And you can choose to add or remove them if needed • Once we are happy with the list of contacts, I’ll tap the tick mark in the top right of the app to confirm them • STEP 14 • Next, I’m then asked to choose the email application I want to sent that email in • I’ll tap on the Gmail app and a blank email compose page is then shown which we can use to send an email to our contact group • #EmailSignature
