Here's Paper Roses on a Hammond B3. In this video, I am playing this as I imagine the former Columbia Records pops organist Ken Griffin might have done if he had lived longer and had an opportunity to play newer songs, and a newer traditional Hammond with percussion such as a B3 or C3, or A100. For Ken Griffin, his was a classic example of the right guy at the right place at the right time. HIs playing style was deceptively simple, he generally played only in the keys of C, F, or G; did not use any modern or exotic harmony, and did not improvise on melodies very much. He also had just a few trademark interludes that he used as either introductions or endings or key changes in just about everything he played. In spite of that, although many of his contemporary Hammond-playing musicians tried to imitate him, they all failed, because his was a deceptive simplicity, and these others all missed several key attributes that set him apart. One thing was that he often played right hand harmony above the melody, whereas customarily, the melody is always the top note and all harmony is below, He also never used Leslie speakers with a Hammond, relying on the Hammond vibrato exclusively. He also pioneered the use of tape echo with a Hammond organ, and sometimes used it exclusively and sometimes as a supplement to the spring reverbs that were in many Hammond speaker cabinets. Likewise, he always recorded directly from the preamp or power amp audio output terminals (which necessitated using spring reverb and/or tape echo.) He often used creative overdub recording to create some novel sounds that were not normally available on a Hammond organ, and he also frequently overdubbed his own playing of a celesta, piano or chimes with the the Hammond, as well as frequent partnering with a contemporary guitarist, Joe Negri. At the time when Ken Griffin was recording for Columbia, the legendary Mitch Miller was Columbia's music director, and Ken was admonished to keep his playing very simple and straightforward, which evidently worked because he was, at that time the most popular instrumental musician in the USA. Ken actually was technically far more advanced musically than his recordings would indicate. He also apparently had a good understanding of advanced audio recording technology. These traits came through even though he was advised to keep his playing very simple and avoid the flashy improvs and embellishments that some other pops organists of his time were using. Therefore (my opinion here,) it seems that he used recording technology to display interesting effects while still keeping his playing simple. • Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this look at how Ken Griffin might have played this song which was not written until four years after he had died.","styleRuns":[{"startIndex":0,"length":2775,"styleRunExtensions":{"styleRunColorMapExtension":{"colorMap":[{"key":"USER_INTERFACE_THEME_DARK","value":4294967295},{"key":"USER_INTERFACE_THEME_LIGHT","value":4279440147}]}},"fontFamilyName":"Roboto"}]},"headerRuns":[{"startIndex":0,"length":2775,"headerMapping":"ATTRIBUTED_STRING_HEADER_MAPPING_UNSPECIFIED"}]}},{"compositeVideoPrimaryInfoRenderer":{}},{"itemSectionRenderer":{"contents":[{"continuationItemRenderer":{"trigger":"CONTINUATION_TRIGGER_ON_ITEM_SHOWN","continuationEndpoint":{"clickTrackingParams":"CMkBELsvGAMiEwiHq5vjgb6MAxUL_0IFHYO-Cn0=","commandMetadata":{"webCommandMetadata":{"sendPost":true,"apiUrl":"/youtubei/v1/next"}},"continuationCommand":{"token":"Eg0SC0ZsY2daOFRUN1djGAYyJSIRIgtGbGNnWjhUVDdXYzAAeAJCEGNvbW1lbnRzLXNlY3Rpb24%3D","request":"CONTINUATION_REQUEST_TYPE_WATCH_NEXT"}}}}],"trackingParams":"CMkBELsvGAMiEwiHq5vjgb6MAxUL_0IFHYO-Cn0=","sectionIdentifier":"comment-item-section","targetId":"comments-section"}}],"trackingParams":"CMgBELovIhMIh6ub44G-jAMVC_9CBR2Dvgp9"}},"secondaryResults":{"secondaryResults":{"results":[{"lockupViewModel":{"contentImage":{"collectionThumbnailViewModel":{"primaryThumbnail":{"thumbnailViewModel":{"image":{"sources":[{"url":"https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ryA6eHZNnXY/hqdefault.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEWCKgBEF5IWvKriqkDCQgBFQAAiEIYAQ== rs=AOn4CLBLrcYN8ivPCFbPLbzFJybeeKdViQ","width":168,"height":94},{"url":"https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ryA6eHZNnXY/hqdefault.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEXCNACELwBSFryq4qpAwkIARUAAIhCGAE= rs=AOn4CLDTLSPGKYtRijMwdQEDcKc_EcsZmQ","width":336,"height":188}]},"overlays":[{"thumbnailOverlayBadgeViewModel":{"thumbnailBadges":[{"thumbnailBadgeViewModel":{"icon":{"sources":[{"clientResource":{"imageName":"PLAYLISTS"}}]},"text":"25 видеоклипа","badgeStyle":"THUMBNAIL_OVERLAY_BADGE_STYLE_DEFAULT","backgroundColor":{"lightTheme":3348758,"darkTheme":3348758}}}],"position":"THUMBNAIL_OVERLAY_BADGE_POSITION_BOTTOM_END"}},{"thumbnailHoverOverlayViewModel":{"icon":{"sources":[{"clientResource":{"imageName":"PLAY_ALL"}}]},"text":{"content":"Пускане на всички","styleRuns":[{"startIndex":0,"length":17}]},"style":"THUMBNAIL_HOVER_OVERLAY_STYLE_COVER"}}],"backgroundColor":{"lightTheme":5844006,"darkTheme":5844006}}},"stackColor":{"lightTheme":10055787,"darkTheme":9664886}}},"metadata":{"lockupMetadataViewModel":{"title":{"content":"25 Greatest Jazz Songs"},"metadata":{"contentMetadataViewModel":{"metadataRows":[{"metadataParts":[{"text":{"content":"Mike Heinrich
