At KETRACO, working at heights is inevitable. The Company through the Safety team has however committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment not just as moral and legal responsibility, but also as a prerequisite for it to achieve its primary mission of operating an efficient, effective, reliable, and safe national electricity transmission grid. • This video shows a contractor heading to remove the clamps from conductors after final sagging during conductor stringing. A clamp is a fastening device used to hang conductors or ground wires to insulators or link fittings to tower arms and substation structures. • The contractor is walking on one conductor to eliminate the risk of falling. Each of the snap hooks are attached to a conductor. When one snap hook is unhooked for transfer to another location, the other hook stays in place to guarantee his safety. The rule is that there should be hooking 100% of the time while working at height. • #SafetyFirst #WorkingAtHeights #Stringing #Conductors #KETRACOProjects #ReliablePower #StablePower
