There are three versions of this fan: the PWM, FLX, and ULN with the PWM being the most powerful and the other two being less powerful in exchange for a slightly lower db level. But the PWMs run silent enough for me already and even include a Low Noise Adapter to eliminate all the noise at the expense of some performance. http://amzn.to/2wO554d • The PWM uses a 4-pin connector while the others use 3-pins, but both are compatible. The 4-pin just allows the fan to be used for CPU or water-cooler radiators, as it will transmit additional information on the CPU temperature to the device for precision control. You can still plug a 4-pin cable into a 3-pin header.
