We found this Red-Tipped fireworm (Chloeia viridis) similar to the bearded fireworm (Hermodice carunculata) but more rare, swimming in open water in Biscayne Bay, Miami. This 7 long bristleworm is a beauty but when threatened will flare its sharp bristles which can penetrate human skin, injecting a powerful neurotoxin, causing, severe pain, nausea, and dizziness. Considered a pest in marine aquariums and saltwater fish tanks. They are fast growing and feed on branching corals and gorgonians. They inhabit reefs and rocky substrata but can swim in open water to avoid predators. • All ARCreef Live Rock is guaranteed 100% fireworm and aiptasia free. • If you ❤ the ocean, like our video and subscribe to our channel, new videos posted every week. • Visit our website: https://ARCreef.com • Add us on Facebook:   / arcreeffl   • Instagram:   / arcreef   • Google +: https://plus.google.com/+Arcreef/ • Twitter:   / arcreef   • Article on the Bobbit Worm : https://arcreef.com/bristle-worms/bob... • All other Hitchhikers: https://arcreef.com/live-rock-hitchhi...
