Ian reviews the Harley Ingleby Moe surfboard: • https://www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/ha... • The Harley Ingleby Mid 6 mid-length surfboard in the awesome and undeniably beautiful Thunderbolt Red technology. • The Mid 6 mid-length surfboard has been designed to give maximum mid-length performance in all wave types. The fine, round pin tail, curvy plan shape, smooth rocker, with a bit of nose flip is equally comfortable turning deep in the pocket or long open-face arcs. The rails at the nose are pinched and run through to mid tucked and a low hard rail profile in the tail. Its foiled from the centre for a nice balance of drive through sections while maintaining hold through tight turning arcs. The Mid 6 fires in everyday surf (we've had one on demo pre launch...it does!), it is tuned enough to handle some pretty serious surf as well. The 6 channel set up works really well, this set up gives acceleration when you drive the board but doesn't make it feel sticky when changing direction, pretty much perfectly balanced. • When Harley got together with his shaper Billy Tolhurst to design the Mid 6, they set about creating an all rounder mid-length with a focus being able to work in average and better conditions, a step on from a board like the Moe. Paddles really well, gets you in early as a mid length should but is a fast, responsive surf too. Fin wise we tried it as a quad and a thruster, it goes way better as a quad with a large set of fins, HI's bespoke XL quad set is ideal or failing that any foiled large quad set is suitable. • HI has 2 World Longboard titles under his belt, and is known for his shortboard style attack alongside a smooth and traditional longboard repertoire. • The Mid 6 is constructed using 'Thunderbolt Red' a 100% hand layup Xeon Fibreglass Lamination which delivers a competition weight and flex surfboard. Thunderbolt Red uses a Fused Cell EPS Foam Blank which incorporates a Carbon Fibre Multi-Component Flex Control System which replaces a traditional wooden stringer which along with the Xeon Fibreglass lamination delivers a familiar flex which will remain for the extended lifespan of these durable boards. Thunderbolt Red uses a 6 + 4oz fibreglass deck lamination with 6 + 2oz on the bottom. The Fused Cell EPS Foam Blank is wrapped in a Core Shield PVC Shell which affords flexible protection to the EPS core. • These boards are 100% hand layups and finished to the very highest standard, and it's worth remembering that the board you buy from us is exactly the same as Harley is riding!
