Ender is given command of his own army at only 9 years old. Dragon Army, which was retired before Ender arrived at Battle School, is prepared for him; He has no veterans, does not have the ability to trade, and he knows he will not be given the same amount of time as other commanders. • • Bean, the smallest kid in his army, shows the most promise, and Ender begins to treat him like Graff treated Ender; calling him out as the best, riding him, etc. • • Thankfully, the army shows promise, and they come up with unconventional tactics in which to combat the other armies at the school. • • Ender also realizes this promotion has isolated him.
