Ne is placed before the verb and pas after the verb. • Ex. 1. Je Parle français. • Je ne Parle pas français. • 2. il est médecin. • il n'est pas médecin. • Ne becomes n' before the vowels. • Ex. Elle aime le chocolat. • Elle n'aime pas le chocolat. • We need to consider another rule of making sentences negative. • In negative sentences, the indefinite articles ( un , Une, des ) become de and d' before vowels and silent h. • Ex. 1 Elle a un Stylo. • Elle n'a pas de stylo. • 2. Elle a une règle. • Elle n'a pas de règle. • But this rule doesn't apply with the verb être. • Ex.
