However, the presence of a loreal shield (a single, large scale between the eye and nostril) distinguishes it from kraits. The Lycodon aulicus can grow to a length of 71 cm (28 inches) and has a variable coloration, ranging from uniform brown to brown with white cross bars. They are known to inhabit a variety of habitats, including forests, grasslands, and agricultural areas. [1] • Lycodon capucinus: This species, also known as the common wolf snake, is found in the Indo-Australian archipelago. It is a slender-bodied snake that can grow to a length of less than one meter. The Lycodon capucinus has a distinct white coloration around its neck and a duck-bill-shaped snout for digging in soft ground. They are primarily nocturnal and feed on small lizards, skinks, and frogs. [2] • Lycodon solivagus: This species is found on Luzon Island in the Philippines.
