It holds the Guinness Book of World Records title as the oldest koala sanctuary in existence. As well as introducing visitors to these amazing animals, the Sanctuary is home to the Brisbane Koala Science Institute. There are plenty of other native critters to meet, including kangaroos, wallabies, emus, dingoes, and the highly elusive platypus. • In this video we take you to Lone Pine on board the famous Koala Cruise along the Brisbane River with Mirimar Cruises. This is one of the easiest ways to get to the Sanctuary from the Brisbane CBD, and departs from the South Bank precinct. The cruise takes around 45 minutes each way, and includes informative commentary. You'll have about three hours in total at Lone Pine, which is plenty of time to explore.
