Official Reggae Sound Clash: Java Nuclear vs Sir Coxsone ft Lieutenant Stitchie 1988 • Java High Power AKA Java Nuclear Power was an 80's/early 90's Sound System from North West London Formerly owned by Giant (rip) • Operated by Macca and colonel Briggy regularly had deejays like; • Joe 90, Cowboy,Starky Bantan and Sister Asher with regular features from Sweetie Irie, General Levi and more. Java still feature at foundation dances and there is a younger crew coming through • Sir Coxsone in its heyday of the 70s and 80s, the sound retained an insurmountable edge, thanks to the unbeatable tag-team of proprietor Lloydie Coxsone and his star selector, Festus, and an ever-changing crew of supporting members that kept the sound perpetually fresh and innovative. With an endless supply of superior dubplates sourced from top producers in Jamaica, augmented by some of their own productions cut with high-ranking music makers in the UK, Sir Coxsone was undeniably top of Britain’s sound system circuit. Their superior selection and the manner in which they presented it to the public gave Coxsone the kind of credibility that most other sounds were never able to achieve, leading to longstanding residencies at nightclubs in the fashionable West End. • Lieutenant Stitchie was born Cleveland Laing in Spanish Town, Jamaica. Originally a school teacher in his hometown, Laing assumed the Stitchie moniker when he joined forces with King Jammy in 1986 for Wear Your Size. He followed it up a year later with his solo full-length debut, Ambition, before signing a U.S. deal with Atlantic in the early '90s (resulting in such major-label releases as 1990's Wild Jamaican Romances and 1993's Rude Boy). Stitchie was then hired to do some vocals for other artists, including Bobby Digital, Barry O'Hare, and John John, before he found religion and began issuing gospel-reggae albums, including such titles as 2000's Real Power. The album proved to be the most successful of his career, making an impression on the U.S. gospel/urban charts and hitting number three on the albums chart in Colombia. • ❤️💛💚 • #Reggae #SoundSystem #Culture For more Quality Vibes Subscribe to our YouTube Channel. • • █▬█ █ ▀█▀ Subscribe, █▬█ █ ▀█▀ Like Comment
