Phool Organic Gulaal is our earnest attempt at reviving the ancient tradition of making pure Gulaal from flowers and herbs. It is believed that thousands of years ago, the Gopis made Gulaal the same way, bestowing the most vibrant flowers upon the okhali to make colours for the first Holi of Radha Krishna. And as Lord Krishna applied this Gulaal to his beloved Radha, the trees and flowers began to bloom with happiness, giving way to the most prosperous season of the year- Spring. • This year, as we went back in time to experience what living that tradition must have felt like, we experienced spring come early at Phool. Bejewelled with flowers, our factory became a canvas of colours, painting the brightest smiles on the faces of women who crafted them. Watching beautiful flowers give away their colours to Gulaal for the holy celebration, we experienced something just words couldn’t do justice to. • So, we captured the experience in this video for you, just as we saw it, through the eyes of a flower. • Taking you through their journey of transformation, the flowers narrate their experience through this poem- • Gulaal ki kahaani, phoolon ki zabani, • Kal tak khushboo bikherti, • Aaj woh rang bikherne chali… • Gulaaalan ke bazuuon ki mehnat ne, • Okhli par haldi ko vaar diya, • Dheemi dheemi aanch par baith, • Taambe ki degh mei khud ko samet, • Aaj woh rang bikherne chali… • Ubaltey paani se aaya nikhaar, • Makkai ke aatey main khud ko sawaar, • Sambrani ke Tel ki mehek uvaar, • Hui rango ki chashani tayyar, • Sooraj ki kiranon se parda kar, • Peetal ki thaal mei khud ko sanjo kar, • Aaj woh rang bikherne chali... • Moosal Ki thak-thakahat se pisti hui, • Aur chane ki jali se chhalak, • Ban makhmal, wo bandh lifafon mein, • Holi ki shubh kaamnaein liye, • Rang bikherne aapke ghar chali... • We hope their journey fills your heart with joy, just the way it did ours. • Phool wishes you all a very Happy Holi! • To place an order for Phool Organic Gulaal, visit our online store- https://phool.co/products/phool-organ... • Phool is a social-impact enterprise that is preserving the Ganges by repurposing temple flowers into organic products like Gulaal, Incense Sticks Cones.
