Copy after copy after copy of Matthew's Gospel, I could recite the first seven chapters from memory alone. • I put my quill down , giving my decrepit wrist a short break. I stared off into the distance for a moment, taking but a second to remember her. Eleanor of Ireland, the woman I loved, the woman I would have married had I not answered the call to join the Brotherhood. • I wondered how she fared...I took a deep breath of the crisp air blowing into my chamber, Almighty God please grant me the strength to finish this copy....I picked my quill up , and returned to my inky solace - T.
