I couldn’t put together a collection of traditional Irish music, without including Down by the Salley Gardens! • A song that I learned in my singing lessons in school many times - it’s one that I’ve returned to time and time again. • Such a lovely melody that is familiar to everyone, whether you’ve heard it before or not! • The poem is by Irish poet William Butler Yeats, set to the traditional air ‘The Moorlough Shore’.
