Koreans often eat Jeon(Korean pancakes) on rainy days. • It's said that this custom has been passed down because the sound of frying jeon is similar to the sound of rain. Indeed, they do sound quite similar :) • Also it's even more delicious when enjoyed with Korean rice wine(Makgeolli). • Here is the recipe of Korean Seafood and Green Onion Pancake, one of the popular pancakes in Korea. • Ingredients: • 1 cup Korean pancake powder(buchimgaru) or all-purpose flour • 1/2 cup cold water • 50g green onion(or chive), cut into 2-inch lengths • 1 cup seafood (squid, shrimp), sliced • 1/2 carrot, thinly sliced • 3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying • 2 tablespoons soy sauce • 1 tablespoon vinegar • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds • Make the dipping sauce: • Mix 2 tbsp of soy sauce and 1 tbsp of vinegar and 1 tsp of sesame seeds. • Instructions: • In a large bowl, add the sliced chive, seafood, and sliced carrot. • Add pancake powder and cold water to the ingredients then, mix them until smooth. • [If you use flour, add a little bit of salt. Korean pancake powder(buchimgaru) already has salt added to it] • Heat the pan over medium heat. • Pour the batter into the pan, spreading it evenly to form a pancake about 1/2 inch thick. • Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy. • Flip the pancake and cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are crispy and the seafood is cooked through. • While the pancakes are cooking, mix all the dipping sauce ingredients in a small bowl. • Serve hot with the dipping sauce. • Enjoy your homemade Korean pancakes! • #cooking #koreanfoodrecipe #koreanfood #korean #pancake #koreanpancake #homemadefood #homemadecooking #한식 #파전 #해물파전 #레시피 • Music by cold winter breeze - reading time - https://thmatc.co/?l=615B4DBE
