Qomolangma National Nature Preserve also known as Chomolungma Nature Reserve (QNP) protects 3.381 million • hectares of the central Himalaya in Tibet. Qomolangma is the Tibetan name for the worlds highest mountain - Mount Everst. Located on the “Roof of the World,” • The reserve contains four of the worlds six highest mountains: namely Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. • The family of our guide Pasang lives in a small village in the reserve. We visit them and are allowed to see a glimp of the unique traditional Tibetan houshold living at high altitude. • The winters are long and cold. The household is almost 100% Self-sufficient.
