However, with her new bilingual music project, ŽIVA, she has established herself as an Australia-based artist who fearlessly combines elements of Slavic-pop, trip-hop, darkwave, and R B to create a unique sound. ŽIVA, which means being alive in Croatian and also represents the poisonous chemical element mercury, channels Lucija's experiences and self-expression through a different sonic realm than what she explored in Punčke. With just a small audio interface, keyboard, microphone, and laptop, ŽIVA performs her original music live on stage, creating a dark and unforgettable experience for her audience. • Born and raised in Vinkovci, a town in the Croatian region of Slavonija, Lucija draws inspiration from her cultural heritage to blend modern sounds with those reflecting her hometown. Her debut single, Power, released in late 2021, celebrates her Croatian roots and received high praise from music critics across the Balkans and Australia. The second single, Dualism, also climbed up the international music charts, cementing ŽIVA's position as a rising star in the music industry. • Aside from her music career, Lucija is currently pursuing a practice-based PhD at SensiLab, where her research focuses on voice studies and live performance. Her work has been exhibited and performed at prestigious arts festivals around the world, including Melbourne Design Week, Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe, and ADAF Greece. With her passion for music and ongoing commitment to research, Lucija Ivšić is a multifaceted artist who continues to push boundaries and inspire others.
