SPOILERS !!!!!!!!! • • Martyrs was a fucking awesome movie. Or at least it started out that way. The last 1/3 of the movie dragged on a little. But the first 2/3 were awesome and relentless. • • This movie has: • -a decent storyline • -well done gore (shootings, cutting, inventive torture devices, bloodshed) • -very well acted • -very well directed (good cinematography) • • My only gripe was the torture scene at the end seemed a little rushed and slowed down the pace of the movie quite a bit. The very end reminded me of the music video by Radiohead for the song Just . • • Other than that, the move was very engaging. It really captures your attention. Nothing about it was cheesy. All the characters were well portrayed. The only ones that weren't 100% believable were the secret society people at the end. • • It came very close to being a perfect horror flick. Highly recommend watching it. Puts any Hostel to shame in my book. A very well done film for the most part. • • 4.5/5 • • Check out RickyShore's review here.
