This is a recipe for Ermine Buttercream (also known as Flour Buttercream, Ermine Icing, Pudding Frosting or Flour Icing) • ***Updated Cooked Flour Ermine Buttercream Frosting - • HOW TO MAKE COOKED FLOUR BUTTERCREAM ... • It is a buttercream that is much less sweet than an American Buttercream which is basically Icing/Confectioners Sugar, Butter and milk whipped together. • I find American Buttercream way too sweet so I was excited when I found this recipe. It was used a lot for Red Velvet cakes before Cream Cheese Frosting became the craze.
